Spider-Man: Brand New Day has recorded the biggest opening day ever for a Hollywood film in India and Kerala, while also setting a new all-time Thursday previews record in the United States.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has delivered one of the strongest global openings ever for a Hollywood release, rewriting box office records across multiple territories on day one.
The film recorded a historic ₹60 crore NBOC on its opening day in India, becoming the biggest Hollywood opener of all time. It comfortably surpassed Avengers: Endgame (₹53 crore), with Avatar: The Way of Water (₹40 crore), Spider-Man: No Way Home (₹32 crore) and Avengers: Infinity War (₹31 crore) following behind.
Kerala also witnessed a historic start. The film debuted with an estimated ₹5.6 crore, setting a new opening day record for a Hollywood release in the state. The previous benchmark was held by Avatar: The Way of Water at ₹3.4 crore.
The opening further places Brand New Day among the biggest day-one performers of 2026 in Kerala, matching the opening of JanaNayagan and trailing only major Malayalam releases such as Drishyam 3, Patriot, Athiradi and Aadu 3.
In North America, Brand New Day posted a gargantuan $72 million in Thursday previews, including Wednesday early screenings. The figure establishes a new all-time record, ahead of Avengers: Endgame ($60M), Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($57M), Spider-Man: No Way Home ($50M) and Star Wars: The Last Jedi ($45M).
Although the preview format differs from previous record holders due to earlier and wider screenings, the opening underlines the scale of audience demand. With a record start in its key markets, Spider-Man: Brand New Day heads into the weekend with several more milestones firmly in sight.
